In The Rear View - Dover

Today's race was interesting for the most part.  There was a good deal of racing...behind Jimmie Johnson. Johnson was the rabbit that the pack couldn't catch. The #48 car lead 289 of the race's 400 laps. The next highest laps led total was 60 by Jeff Gordon.  Speaking of Gordon, he had the best car in the field today in my opinion. But once again was snake bitten by bad luck not of his own doing. The 24 team really needs to pick up a couple of wins to be in Chase contention, but how long will the crappy luck continue?

Dover Preview 6/1

The Track:  The tack at Dove is unique. First of all, it's just one of two concrete tracks on the circuit.   It also is very steeply   banked.  The turns are banked at 24 degrees and the straights at 9. With the straightaways banked so sharply, drivers will feel the sensation of "diving" in to a corner.  Riding up against the wall down the straight and cutting the car to the bottom, will give some the sensation of a roller coaster drop.  After the driver gets the car to roll the bottom, the car will seemingly go "up the hill" on corner exit.  The driver will climb the banking on the exit of the corner. The constant ups and downs of the corners will make the drivers feel like they have a ridden a roller coaster with 800 drops and hills.
